Productivity App Highlight: Todoist

Hi all, and welcome back to another productivity app highlight! On today’s radar is Todoist, which takes the esteemed position of having been my productivity app of choice prior to my switch to Amazing Marvin.

Todoist caught my eye initially for its smooth, minimalistic layout and clean structure. It is based on projects, a bit similar to Marvin, that you can customize and set up depending on your main areas of focus in your life, and its primary layout contains tabs for your inbox, for your schedule today, and for upcoming tasks. It comes with a free version, but you can also pay for a premium subscription for $3.99 monthly or $35.99 yearly.

Todoist’s inbox allows you to follow the strategy of dumping everything you have to do into one centralized location, from which you can organize and plan your day. In terms of functionality, it works perfectly with minimal bugs, and its keyboard shortcuts for making tasks are very helpful in streamlining your productivity process.

The biggest deal breaker of Todoist for me is the lack of a separate due date and a scheduled date. For someone who is juggling different deadlines and responsibilities, it’s often necessary to know when something is due but also to schedule it for an earlier date than that. Todoist only allows you to schedule items for the day they are due, making it difficult to see all of the things that you’d like to accomplish on a given day right there in front of you.

However, if that doesn’t sound like it would be a problem for you, feel free to check out Todoist at https://todoist.com! Its various features such as tags, priority levels, filters, and more make it a very powerful service, and I’m always a fan of the cute yearly reviews they send out to you. Todoist is also always getting new and refreshing updates, and it is clearly a product that is loved by the team that makes it.
