7 Minute Exercises

I’ve never been an active person.

Usually the only exercise I get is from tennis classes, and from practice during tennis season. However, this year, our tennis season was called off due to the pandemic, and I found myself becoming lazier and lazier every day, eating more and more junk food as a result.

At a certain point, I realized that if nobody was going to force me to exercise, it’d have to come from myself. I couldn’t keep walking up and down the stairs to get food and calling that my exercise for the day.

So over the past week or two, I’ve been trying out quick 7-minute exercises every day with a free app I downloaded. It offers all sorts of exercises, from upper body to legs to core to weight loss, and doesn’t require any equipment - just your body and a little bit of space to work out - meaning I can keep up my habits of only leaving my room for food.

7 minute exercises are really easy to work into a busy day because as their name suggests, they only take 7 minutes to do, meaning I really don’t have an excuse to say I don’t have the time to exercise anymore.

Although it was super painful getting started, I’ve found my energy levels throughout the day to be higher as a result of exercising, and I’ve been more motivated to eat healthy and drink water as a result!

During quarantine, it’s tough to find ways to stay active and healthy, but luckily there are lots of free options available to stay fit. Exercise provides lots of benefits apart from physical health too - it can make you feel happier, more energetic, more relaxed, and so much more.

All in all, I highly recommend 7 minute exercises if you’re like me, too lazy to put in the time for longer exercises. Take 7 minutes away from the time you spend on social media, and try exercising instead! You might be surprised at the benefits.
