Stem4Free July In Review

This past month has certainly been a busy one for Stem4Free, and after a month of hard work, we’re excited to share our July In Review with all of you!

We’ve been hard at work with local businesses and organizations to collect and donate food, and we’re happy to announce that this month, we managed to rescue 36,882 servings of food! This is almost a 500% increase from June, where we rescued 6,157 servings.

You can see the breakdown of each branch’s food rescues in the graphic below.

Stem4Free is also happy to announce several new partnerships with local businesses and restaurants, all of whom have been generous enough to donate their leftovers. Thank you so much to all of these organizations. Without your help, our mission to reduce food waste would have been much more difficult!

We’ve also started several new branches in Vancouver, Minnesota, Houston, and Italy, and we have had 32 new student volunteers join the cause. This brings our total number of branches to 20!

Now is a more important time than ever to work on reducing food waste - because of Covid-19, many food banks and homeless shelters are struggling to receive enough resources to feed people. Stem4Free is hard at work to try and alleviate this problem, and we’re so grateful to our partnered businesses and our volunteers who make all of this possible.

July has been a great month for Stem4Free, and we’ve seen lots of growth in our organization. If you’d like to join the cause and make an impact reducing food waste in your local community, please check out the join page on Stem4Free’s website to become a local volunteer! We’d be more than happy to have you.

Thank you to everyone for making what we do possible, and we’ll see you in a month for our next Stem4Free Month In Review!
