Toning Down the Core

I recently have gotten very into fitness and have been heavily working out for about 2 months now. I found that it was very hard for me to stick to my restricted diet because of all the delicious foods that surround me every single day. Some days I’ll be able to restrain myself from eating those foods and snacks that are not healthy, but on other days I just can’t resist. I found that most of these foods lead to a bigger stomach.

To help work off some of the food that I ate, I do a couple ab exercises to help me get back on track. Since we are trying to lose weight, we will be working with lower weights but higher reps.

It is always important to warm up before going into a workout, so I will normally start out with a couple stretches. I then go into high knees, lunges, and side lunges. It is also important to warm up with the bar if you’re going to be lifting, so I do 15 squats with just the bar.

Once I am done with my warm up I jump straight ahead into wall sits. I try to hold it for at least 30 seconds, but the more sets you do the harder it will get(add 20 pounds on your lap for wall sits). After one set of 30 seconds I will then go to the pull up bar and do hanging wall sits(not weighted). Both of these exercises are good for the core and help work off some of the unhealthy foods you ate.

After I am done with 2 sets of those exercises I will do low weight but high rep squats. I will normally add 70 pounds and squat 15 reps for 4-5 sets. This is a great way to work your core and thighs. To finish off the work out, I do 2 sets of knee sit ups and penguin touches. The knee sit ups are regular sit ups but your hands go up to touch your knees and one set is for one minute. The penguin touches are when you are in sit up position but you go to touch the sides of your feet; this exercise is done for one minute 30 seconds.

That wraps up the workout that I do to work off some of the unhealthy foods that I ate.
